I’ve actually had this in my archives for some time now and finally getting around to blogging about one of THE most craveable eateries in downtown LA.
Bottega Louie, all the rage on the Yelp-o-meter, equally illustrious on my own personal account. Part patisserie, part bar, part bistro, think bodega-like-eats on a super-duper bougie level.
The Vibe
Couture-clad models serve as the wait staff while another bevy of beauties sashay around Louie’s exhibition kitchen all the while serving a similarly stunning group of patrons that favor this Grand Ave institution. You may be mesmerized by the buffet of ample eye candy, but you’ll most certainly be consumed by simple execution of exceptional haute cuisine.

On the Menu
Portobello Fries (above): My very reason for even blogging about this joint. Portobello mushrooms sliced like wedge cut fries, battered, and deep fried with aioli dip on the side. Can you say A-FRIGGIN-MAZE-BALLS!!?!? The batter is almost akin to gourmet zucchini fries, without all the greasy residue. Slightly salted, hardly seasoned, A PERFECT HIT!!! Juicy goodness oozing with every bite. Must order 2 for a party of 4. It’s that ridonkulous.
With a massive wood-burning, top notch, floor to (almost) ceiling brick oven serving as the focal point in the industrial looking establishment, how can you NOT be wowed enough to order pizza? Yummy, scrumptious, tastes like it looks- Fresh. No complaints here.
Sometimes the mark of a good bodega is how well they execute a simple triple stacked club…Needless to say we ate it right up…along with their homemade thick-cut deli-style potato chips. Straightforward is key here.
LOVES me some lukewarm greens. If the salad isn’t served bone-chillingly cold, you gotta expect that their dressing will be the icing on the cake and indeed this vinaigrette did NOT disappoint. They actually had me at goat cheese to be honest.
I dined during lunch hours but I hear their brunch menu is BOMB…Will definitely hafta make another cameo next time I’m in the hood, but I gotta admit….I really do dream about them shrooms….All natural high baby, I’m a hippie at heart ;D
Happy Friday y’all!!!
Here’s to making it an amazing weekend!!!

I will be sitting in some hideous traffic on the 10 Fwy to get to this slice of heaven. No doubt worth it!
