I have been designing this incredible residential estate in Huntington Harbor for a solid 3 years now.

While the clients are taking a mini-break from remodeling I’m sharing some much overdue sneak peeks into how the home’s shaping up so far…

Upon entering this modern glam interior, you’re met with a custom designed entry gate that takes you right into their private courtyard.  I designed this gate to not only feature the family monogram, but with a one-way mirror backed panel so guests can’t see in, but the owners can see out.

Perfect for that added privacy.  A fabulous running water feature and LED backlit step pads direct you to the stunning glossy black wrought-iron entry door.

I can come home to this every day of the week y’all… Just incredible.

The foyer is just as spectacular with custom chandeliers swathed in Swarovski strass smoked crystals, the very best of its kind.  Yup, I have super fancy schmancy clients whom I absolutely adore!
They understand high quality over high quantity and really strive to only source the finest out there.
Being right on the water brings many issues to the forefront, as high sun, salty air, and general ocean side climate conditions call for special attention to items and materials sourced.  While sun shades are absolutely imperative for floor to ceiling windows, they may not be the most visually appealing remedy out there.  So I custom made some gorgeous silk sheers to mirror the shape of the arched windows when the shades are not in use.  Beautiful, glamorous, and most importantly, highly functional as a second layer of defense.
While the double-height living room was designed with formalities in mind with a grand feature fireplace, the adjacent family room is casual, inviting, and still mirrors the vibe of the space without being overly pretentious.  I credit these leather quilted matching sofa and loveseat set from Century Furniture for the feel, so buttery soft and sumptuous you can sink right in!
Moving onto the second level, you know you have badass clients when they remove an entire second story suite just to build this bridge.  With such a spectacular harbor view, this was the best move ever for the home!
The guest suite was one of the first things we completed in the custom design.  I LOVE dark walls and know instantly I wanted to use this black and ivory floral Graham and Brown wallpaper for our backdrop.  The wing bed was another custom design by JKID with its slight nod to regency design albeit in a contemporary setting.  Love the retro nod for modern times.
Remember this Glam Luxe Guest Bathroom I posted HERE? Yup, this beauty was designed for the 2nd level guest suite with high contrast black and white as the palette base and our signature pale neutral lavender gray as accents… Love how elegant the space feels with just a touch of color.
The theater was designed with a palette of neutral grays and taupes with an emphasis on mixed prints.  While the dark and moody space was meant for marathon movie watching, I still wanted the room to echo a heightened custom sensibility, bold and unabashed in glamorous touches.
From the custom silk velvet sectional to the plush shag carpet, every surface is meant to be warm, inviting, and overall, luxurious.

We even custom made this baroque style gouache frame to house the TV media opening, lol. Took 6 months and a house full of artisans to make, but look at her!! I don’t think it gets more glamorous than this y’all!

And now, onto the master suite, my favorite wing of the entire house!   The lavender-hued damask wallcovering was the first finish selected and from there we based the entire color story around the paper.

Black and white high-contrast elements supports the space with a custom mosaic marble and granite floor pattern in the bathroom while a Schonbek chandelier hangs high in the groin-vaulted ceiling.

Metallic surfaces have become a signature in JKID designed interiors so every inch just gleams from corner to corner.

Full height slabs of Calacatta Marble anyone???

…and the prettiest vanity chair fit for the queen of the castle.
I’ll be sharing tons more from #JKIDHuntHarbor estate on Instagram and the blog, so make sure you tune in for all the glittery design details!
What do you think of the space? Too formal or just enough bling for the modern glam gal?
