Travel Diary | Puerto Vallarta Part I

 Finally back to reality and finding out how much tropical vacations really do take a toll on your mind and body.
While city trips usually leave me feening for more culture and history, island excursions (however much they’re supposed to relax you) somehow seem more taxing.

Tropical Escape

Maybe it’s because we jam-packed our schedule with daily activities and endless food consumption…or maybe it’s the result of waking up at the butt crack of dawn to catch the first tour to beat the afternoon crowds…or maybe it’s because I’m a big baby and need another vacation to fully recover from this one….*le sigh* Maybe because my thoughts are littered with such separation anxiety from leaving this wonderfully charming Mexican escape that I’m just too spent to think about anything other than planning my next Haute Khuuventure!
Whatever the case may be, peep out highlights from my trip to Puerto Vallarta and see why I’m still in vacation mode y’all…

Aerial view flying in to PV’s lush landscape before traversing beachside…#ootd airport style…Entry to the Hard Rock Vallarta, easily one of the best deals in PV since they offer a boatload amount of bonus credit to be used towards excursions, spa services, pro photo sessions, etc….Friendly reminder that we’re here to ROCK OUT y’all, love that song quotes are strewn throughout the resort…Jacuzzi in the guestroom? Don’t mind if I do!…Quick wall for an emergency shopping sesh at their nearby mall since the airline lost my luggage (but eventually found on Day 2, phew!)

The calm before the storm…Torrential downpour forced us to bring the party indoors…The color-changing lobby by night…The international buffet became our daily meeting spot as well as host to my first night’s birthday dinner…chocolate cake and cognac shots all around…Posing with the super accommodating and friendly staff

Morning wake-up call to this insane view of our resort…Day 2 at Indio Canopy ziplining for the first time ever!…So much fun on the last line soaring Superman style over the gorgeous rainforest and riverbed…A quick snack of assorted quesadilla, skewers, and chips…Relaxing poolside at the swim-up bar on a quiet afternoon after a day of adventure

Finally got my luggage now it’s time for a shoot!…Rocking my FAVE hat that I scored in San Francisco a few years back and waiting for her timely debut, lol…Another beautiful day at the beach, sunning, tanning, and frolicking with my girls well into sunset…

Le bf and I chartered a tour to Las Marietas Islands on our last day there, a national beach park located 1hr away from PV by boat…Spent the most amazing day exploring hidden beaches, natural volcanic caves, and relaxing in these turquoise waters far away from the hustle and bustle of PV…Such a memorable trip that deserves an entire post dedicated to it- more on that tomorrow!

Ahhhhhh Puerto Vallarta, you will always have a special place in my heart….
TUNE IN ALL WEEK for the rest of the PV Photo Diary y’all!  You won’t wanna miss our excursion to the beautiful hidden caves of Las Marietas Islands and the unbelievable story that came from it!
