Coffee or tea, which do you prefer?

While I cannot get through my mornings without my usual double cup of coffee, I am actually a tea fanatic. Think loose leaf, jasmine/oolong/green tea goodness just like your Asian mama used to brew. I probably have at least 2 cups throughout my day mixing in antioxidants like green tea with more calming, caffeine-free options like chamomile and ginger.

With summer coming to a close, I’m making more of an effort to check out some super cute tea shops that have been sprouting up all over town.

Not your typical tea spot, think more sit-down English afternoon tea and less grab-n-go Asian milky boba tea joints.

Which you clearly don’t need me to dictate since every street corner in OC has a dozen of ‘em!

My TOP 4 favorite tea spots in OC

Basilur Tea and Coffee | The Source, Buena Park

6920 Beach Blvd k129, Buena Park, CA 90621

This super cute spot just opened up at the Source outdoor mall in Buena Park and it is seriously the CUTEST place ever! So cute I dedicated this entire post to shooting in their shop. Don’t miss the rose hip and raspberry tea, so fragrant and puts me in the most relaxing stupor.  They even serve breakfast and pastries as well as coffee so try a meetup with your gal pals the next time you’re in the area!

Tranquil Tea Lounge | Fullerton, CA

106 W. Wilshire Ave., Fullerton, CA 92832

Tranquil is the perfect name for this local-favorite’s tea spot. The interior is dark and cozy, perfect for all day lounging with your laptop in hand. Their tea list is one of the most extensive ones I’ve seen with a fab mix of white, black, pu-erh, mate, and over a dozen different green-tea options. They also have a full café menu with a variety of sandwiches and soups available to order but I always get the white chocolate lavender scone, omg so buttery delish I can taste it now!

Dripp | Fullerton, CA

500 N Harbor Blvd. Ste B, Fullerton, CA 92832 USA

Located in downtown Fullerton at the Fox Theater, Dripp is every hipster’s haven! Coffee is their passion but I come here for the tea since the outdoor garden adjacent to the café is the perfect place to lounge all afternoon people watch. While my lounging days are far behind me, I love to stop in and grab a Lavender Orange Grey tea with the ice-cream sandwiches they are famous for.

One Love Tea | Lake Forest, CA

9 Orchard Rd #105, Lake Forest, CA 92610

I stumbled upon this tea spot since it was nearby a new client’s home. Definitely not your traditional tea, One Love’s even got CBD-infused tea for those of us who need the extra health-benefits added to your afternoon delight. I love that they serve the tea loose-leafed with their own branded bottles, super cute and ingenious move I must say! I love the mango peach honeybush, so fragrant and hits just the right floral notes without being too overwhelming.
