With temperatures reaching the high 80’s and a humidity level that’s indicative of tropical regions, I knew dressing for my China trip would be no easy feat.
Of course made easier by my ULTIMATE packing list (here) but I still can’t predict the weather gods y’all. For a look that’s casual yet still a dash dressy, I packed a myriad of easy breezy lounge pants and topped them off with sleeveless blouses in coordinating hues.
Styling Tips
My go-to look: Pattern on pattern. The key to mixing prints is keeping them in similar scale…small patterns with small, large with large. You can maintain a uniform visual this way. You can also mix prints by adding a texture. Here the crochet lace top acts as its own visual print, allowing the graphic bottom to blend in rather than stand out. The semi-cropped top also helps to lengthen my torso which is always a plus!
Or you can keep the entire look monochromatic with similar hues so it doesn’t break up your ensemble in parts. Especially for petite gals, too much contrast can easily swallow our frame up whole! Proportion is everything! Loving how versatile pajama “lounge” dressing can be for a multitude of events. Perfect for navigating 3 full days at the Canton Trade Fair…or sightseeing the mean streets of Hong Kong Island and Causeway Bay…or simply shopping for souvenirs and trinkets at the street markets.
Shop the Look
Forever 21 makes some fabulous versions of these joggers, shop them here and here. My new go-to look for beating the heat- it’s mid-90’s all week here in SoCal! Omg summer’s come quite early y’all, how will you prepare???

I think I need some new PJS!!!
It's been so freaking hot in SoCal lately. I've been drinking tons of water, and just wearing my shorts, and short sleeve tees all day long!
