Staycations are seriously so underrated guys. What better way to get out of town than a quick hop, skip, and jump away into the next closest hotspot?

San Diego is a mere 2hr drive away from Orange County and we decided early on that we would commit to a quickie overnight trip for our 2 year wedding anniversary and wait until our work schedule dies down to take a real trip. Which btw is coming up in February (Vancouver BC> Whistler) can’t wait!

But in the meantime, check out what went down in sunny San Diego this past weekend!

Trekked over to Coronado Island to catch the sunset and chill on the beach

You CANNOT come to San Diego without having world-famous tacos!  They’re everywhere!! And of course a nice leisurely shopping sesh at Fashion Valley mall (below). I love stopping in my favorite Zaras in another town, they ALWAYS have my size! Score!

Checked into the historic U.S. Grant hotel and immediately changed into more comfy clothes for a quick catnap

Off to dinner in Little Italy to check out Richard Blais’ eponymous restaurant Juniper and Ivy (featured in a future Food Porn Friday post)

Strolling around quiet downtown Horton Plaza after dinner. The Gaslamp district is always poppin’ after midnight with clubbers and party-goers, so thankfully we beat the rush by calling it an early night! Yup, we old now y’all!

Stay tuned for Part II of our San Deezy staycation featuring the historic U.S. Grant Hotel!

Thanks for stopping by babes!

Check out our wedding album HERE…. Aw can’t believe it’s been 2 years!  Memories <3….
